How to create pretty links using your Squarespace website
Squarespace comes with the ability to map custom URLs with your domain name, which is great if you want to give a link on social media to an affiliate URL or even an external landing page but still want to keep it on brand.
It’s also useful to keep track of your links and have easy-to-remember URL addresses for the more complex URLs you may be linking to.
In this video I show you how to do this in just a few minutes. Watch the tutorial below or scroll to read the instructions.
How to set up URL mapping in Squarespace
Go to Settings > Developer Tools (edited! no longer under Advanced) > URL Mapping
Write the slug you want to use, a space then ->, a space, add the URL you want to link to, a space, 301 (this is tell the browser it’s a permanent redirect).
Hit save and check it works!
And that’s it. Easy-peasy.
